aka Little Possum
Jessica continues to amaze with her language, verbalising of her thoughts, and extreme enthusiasm for everything. Jessica is most happy to dive in head first into any new experience. She seems to be a little more physically inclined than her big sister, taking to swimming lessons and gymnastics with gutso. She is fast developing a wicked and delightful sense of humour, which sees her laughing and making others laugh too. She actively joins in Kathleens classes, and the teachers are all a little surprised when they discover that Jessica will not be officially attending for another three years.
This year saw Jessica finish attending the Deakin Uni daycare facility for the two days per week that Robyn was working. But she absolutely loves going to the local Neighbourhood House childcare for the morning on Mondays and Wednesdays. Having turned 4 in early August, Jessica is both looking forward to Kinder next year and is well and truly ready for it. Given that dress-ups are a major part of her play, a Fairy Party was the order of the 4th Birthday party. Six little Fairies and one slightly taller Wizard attended and much fun was had by all.
Following her big sister and trying to do everything that Kathleen does, and more, makes for busy days in Jessicas young life. We still love Murray The Red Wiggle, and enjoy being in the "shows" regularly put on by the Harding Sisters. One particular favourite is their version of Cindarella. The lead role is taken by Kathleen, but Jessica more than makes up by playing all of the other characters. This involves many costume changes, different voices, and sometimes her comic timing has everyone in stiches. The handsome prince can go one of two ways - either very serious or farsically rediculous - but either way, Jessica handles these multiple roles well.
Jessica is also looking forward to swimming with all of the fish on our trip North soon, and is secretly hoping that we can take some fish home in a jar, just like the slater beetles and worms from the gardening adventures in our back garden. She has worked out that the word "holiday" means that some good times will be had, so again her enthusiasm makes these family trips even more exciting for everyone.
