Robyn is very clever when it comes to making quilts. She cuts and stitches and sews, mumbles under breath when she makes a mistake, and stitches some more. Then she does things with her sewing machine that defy the laws of physics. She's also pretty handy with cross-stitching too !!
Robyn says:
I have benn busy with quilts in the second half of this year (2007).
I have created a "Baby Genius" quilt and a Noahs Ark Quilt for Angela and Jeremys new baby due in late December.

I've had several projects on the go this year....surprise, surprise!
As shown above, I have made a quilt for Jessica which consists of 57 soft pink diamond shapes sashed together (criss-crossed) in a soft green (her favorite color!) I enjoyed constructing all of these up at Jamieson on our weeks holiday and now it has been put together and finished off. Jessica is very pleased.

For Kathleen I have just finished a quilt in bright colored squares called a Rebecca Amy Quilt. It has a beautiful fresh spring scene in the centre of each block and is framed in bright blues, golds, purples etc. I have stitched all of the 130 blocks and given that yellow is Kathleens favourite colour, she is also pleased with the final product.

The third quilt I have on the go is for Matt & my bedroom. I started it last year and it has gone a bit by the wayside. It is called Victorian Lace and is made up of 16 large blocks. These have a circular petal arrangement in each and are mostly hand pieced due to all the curves. It will look fantastic when it is finished. 4 done and 12 to go! |
